Military Service
Before becoming an attorney, Jacob Zamora served in the United States Navy as an aircrewman. He coordinated tactical missions involving suspected enemy submarines and surface ships and supervised and trained flight crew members. His service included Operation Desert Storm, and he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Southwest Asia Service Medal. His military background continues to inform his work on behalf of veterans and their families.
Appellate Practice
Jacob Zamora is an appellate attorney focusing on appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC) and civil appeals in state and federal courts. He has represented clients before the California Court of Appeal, Fourth District, Division One, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Litigation Experience
A former Public Defender, Mr. Zamora has tried serious felony “strike” cases, handled numerous preliminary hearings and motions to suppress, and prepared and argued writs of habeas corpus. He has also litigated complex civil matters—including personal injury, real estate fraud, contract disputes, ADA claims, and intellectual property actions—as well as family law contempt and restraining order proceedings. This broad trial and motion experience gives him a practical, record-driven perspective he now brings to veterans’ benefits claims and appeals before the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC).
